Another house that stays in my memory belonged to Mr and Mrs Balls. It was down towards the end of Park Avenue and had a turret. That fascinated me as a child and when taken to visit I was sometimes allowed to go up the narrow spiral stairway to look out the windows. This was a very special treat. The house was eventually moved to Garden or Gordon Road and the turret removed.
