FUNERAL NOTICE
THE friends of Mr Robert Russell are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral of his Wife, Ester, to leave his residence at Nai Nai, for the Taita Churchyard, on Friday, the 8th March, 1889, at 3 o''clock in the afternoon.

Robert Russell, farmer, of Nai Nai, was charged with having assaulted Edgar Lionel Curtis, labourer, of the same place, on the 9th instant. The same defendant was charges by Curtis'' wife with having used insulting language to her on the same occasion, wherefore sureties of the peace were prayed for. Mr. Bunny appeared for the plaintiffs and Mr. Jackson for the defendant. Evidence having been taken at considerable length, the Court imposed a fine of 1 pound, and costs 2 pounds 10s, in the first case, and in the second bound defendant over in his own recognizance in the sum of 20 pounds for six calendar months, and in addition ordered him to pay the sum of 2 pounds 14s costs.

SALE AT THE HUTT
FRANCIS SIDEY (sic) & CO. have received instructions from Mr. Robert Russell to sell by auction at his residence, near the Central Hotel, Lower Hutt, the whole of his household furniture and effects, consisting of -
Carpets, cheffonier, tables, chairs, pictures, bedsteads and mattresses, pillows, blankets, looking-glasses, washstands and ware, toilet tables, kitchen furniture, crockery, cooking utensils, churns, milk pans, garden tools, &c.
Every article will be sold Without Reserve, as Mr. Russell is leaving the district.
NOTE.- Train for the Hutt at 9.45 a.m.
