Tributes to the memory of the late Mrs. Lizzie Keys, widow of the late Mr. William R. Keys, were paid at the meeting of the Upper Hutt Borough Council last evening. The Mayor (Mr. A. J. McCurdy) said he had known Mrs. Keys ever since he had come to the district 44 years ago. Everything he knew of her was to her credit. She had been associated with many organisations of a charitable nature. She was a member of the Plunket Society since its inception and an ardent worker for the'' local Women''s Institute. She would be difficult to replace on the organisations on which she had served. A motion of condolence with the relatives was passed, members standing in silence.

The many friends of Mrs. W. Keys (Upper Hutt) will regret to hear of her death which took place last week after a long illness. Mrs. Keys was a past member of the Upper Hutt Club and took part in inter-club matches for some years.
