Evening Post 17 November 1881
A fatal accident occurred at Karori yesterday afternoon. It appears that a man named Henry Kilminster (sic) was engaged in bush falling on a farm in that district, when a tree fell in a direction contrary to that which had been expected, and, catching him on the head, killed him instantaneously. Employed on the same farm were four brothers, named McKelvy, two of whom reside at Karori and two at Makara, and a man named George Frederick George. It was the last-named person who brought the news of the occurrence to town. Mounted Constable Coffey was at once despatched to the spot, and the body was brought to the deceased''s late residence in Tinakori-road. The deceased was about 40 years of age, and married. An inquest was to be held by the City Coroner at the Shepherds'' Arms Hotel, Tinakori-road, at 2 o''clock this afternoon.

At the inquest on the body of Henry Kilminster (sic), who was killed at Karori by the fall of a tree, a verdict of "Accidental Death" was returned. Deceased leaves a widow and six children.

KILMISTER.- On the 16th November, at Karori accidentally killed. Mr Henry Kilmister, third son of Mr John Kilmister, Glenbervie Terrace, aged 42 years; deeply regretted by a large circle of friends. Gisborne papers please copy.
