To my Fellow Colonists.
THREE years, or there about, I have been in this Colony; with my hands I haye worked, and with the sweat of my brow I have erected a building which I now'' occupy. For this building I have paid about £150 of my own money, and I am still indebted £35 13s., of which there is £14 due to Mr. Fitzherbert, squire. Six weeks, to-day I received goods from him, and now I have received a lawyer''s letter for the amount of that bill. I have kept out all my money that I have. I hope that all of you that are indebted to me will call and pay me your accounts that is due to me, that I may get out of the hands of the squire and the lawyer. From your humble servant,
Thomas Poad. Lambton-quay, January 14, 1843.
