EVIDENCE AT AN INQUEST
An inquest was held at the Magistrate''s Court last evening by Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M., concerning the death of Adelaide Eliza Jane Percy, a single woman of Petone, who was found hanging from the wall in the Davis-street Private Hospital at 7.20 a.m on Tuesday.
Dr. Collins said that deceased went into the hospital on 22nd March, but had been in his care previously. She was neurotic and once told him that she felt suicidal, but he did not attach much importance to what she said. She was continually under witness''s observation, but he did not think that at any time she would be better in a mental hospital. Artificial respiration was administered for a lengthy period, but with no result. Death was due to strangalation, self-inflicted, during a period of temporary insanity. The Coroner said that it was clear that deceased received all attention possible. The verdict was in accordance with the medical evidence.
