Lerwill, Muriel Mary
Evening Post 25 August 1928
Weddings.
The marriage took place recently at the Wesley Church, Taranaki street, of Muriel Mary, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Lerwill, of Wellington, to John Edward, second son of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Wynne, also of Wellington. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. C. Eaton, and Mr. Temple White officiated at the organ. The. bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a charming frock of ivory mariette with a hem of scalloped silk lace and sash of satin caught at the side with a diamante buckle. Her veil fell from a pleated headdress arranged with orange blossoms. She carried a beautiful shower bouquet of hothouse flowers with maidenhair and asparagus fern. The bridesmaid, Miss Nell Wynne, wore a frock of coral-pink mariette with a circular frilled skirt and uneven hemline. Her picture hat was of lavender crinoline and tulle with a spray of lilac. She carried a shower bouquet to tone. Misses Avis Lankshear and Edna Christensen were flowergirls; they wore frocks of coral-pink mariette and cream lace with rosebud trimming. Both had headdresses toning with their frocks and carried posies. Mr. W. R. Lerwill was best man. On leaving the church the bride was presented with a silver horseshoe by little Joyce Fuller. After the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Lerwill held a reception at Gamble and Creed, Lambton quay. Mrs. Lerwill wore a black crepe de chine frock with coloured hand embroidery, and a black hat; she also carried a bouquet of scarlet flowers and asparagus fern. Mrs. Wynne (mother of the bridegroom) was in a frock of pale grey crepe de chine draped with floral ninon and grey hat, and carried a bouquet of cyclamen and fresias. Among those present were Mr. and Mrs. LankShear (Levin), Mr. and. Mrs. Christensen (Feilding), and Mr. and Mrs. Fuller (Napier). Later the bride and bridegroom left for a tour of the North, Mrs. Wynne wearing a smart fawn costume with crinoline hat to tone, and fawn coat with fur trimmings.
