A pretty wedding was solemnised at St. James''s Church recently when Mary Elizabeth (Mamie), daughter of Mr and Mrs R. H. Hull of Lower Hutt, and formerly of Moira, County Down, Ireland, was married to George Leigh, son of Mr and Mrs G. F. Judd of Lower Hutt.
The bride, who was escorted by her father,wore a frock of ivory georgette The skirt fell in soft folds from the knees, the simple corsage fitting the figure. The embroidered tulle veil, which fell in a long train, was caught at the back of the head with orange blossom. She carried a sheath of pink and white roses.
The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Meta Hull, as chief bridesmaid, and Miss Betty Judd, sister of the bridegroom. Both maids wore frocks of coral georgette, flared from the knees, and finished at the hem with small frills. Their wide felt hats and satin shoes toned with their frocks. They carried bouquets of autumn-tinted flowers.
The Rev. H. E. K. Fry was the officiating clergyman. The bridegroom was attended by Mr E. D. Greenwood as best man, and Mr E. Evans as groomsman.
A reception was afterwards held at the Oddfellows'' Hall, where Mrs Hull received the guests, wearing a frock of royal blue lace and small felt hat of the same shade. Mrs. Judd, the bridegroom''s mother, was in a frock of black lace, and black felt hat. The bride travelled in a frock of pillar-box red.
