Presentation.— One of those pleasant little events which tend to rub off the angles of life happened at the Express Office on Saturday afternoon, when Mr F. Hale, the machinist, was presented by the firm and staff with a souvenir on the eve of his approaching marriage. The presentation, which took the form of a very handsome plated butter and preserve service, was made by Mr Furness; the recipient suitably acknowledged the gift, and was heartily cheered by the staff. At the conclusion of the ceremony the health of Mr Hale and his future bride was drunk with much enthusiasm - Mr Hale was married to Miss Gresham at St Mary''s Church yesterday, Father Lewis performing the ceremony in the presence of a large attendance of spectators. After the ceremony at the Church, the Garrison Band, of which Mr Hale was formerly a member, testified their appreciation of his past services by playing the Wedding March in excellent style.
