Pte. T. (sic) G. F. Pilcher, of the 29th Reinforcements, son of Mr. and Mrs. T. Pilcher, of Nainai, was entertained by friends and relatives at the residence of Mrs. Neill, Nainai. About forty persons were present, and at supper time the guest was presented by Mr. Eales (on behalf of friends) with a wristlet watch. Mrs. Swain and Mrs. Minogue also presented Pte. Pilcher with a safety razor.

Mrs. Harriet E. Neill, wife of Mr. J. Neill, of Nainai (sic), died at the temporary hospital, Lower Hutt, on 22nd November, at the age of 53. Mrs. Neill was the daughter of Mr and Mrs. Edward Elliott, who were among the very early pioneers of the Hutt Valley, and was born at the Hutt. She leaves a family of three sons, three granddaughters, and six grandchildren. Mrs. Neill was of a very sincere and admirable disposition, and her loss will be felt by a large circle of friends. Great sympathy is extended to Mr. Neill and family.
