A reception was held at St. Peter''s Hall, Paekakariki, on Thursday night. It was given by the Paraparaumu friends of Mr. D. Lloyd-Drewitt (sic), who returned from France some little time ago very severely wounded. Dancing was indulged in, and songs were given by Miss Lynch and Miss Norah Donovan, and Mr. Dermot Lynch. The dance music was excellent, the pianist having come from Palmerstou North for the occasion. Before supper, Mr. Capper, sen. of Paraparaumu, made a speech of welcome to Mr. Drewitt, and presented him with a little "purse" from his friends and well-wishers. "For He''s a Jolly Good Fellow" was then sung, and three very hearty cheers were given for the guest of the evening. After supper dancing continued till the "wee small hours," Mr. A. Robinson acting as M.C. and organiser of the occasion.
