The death occurred this morning of Mr. James Henry Carter, aged 72, an old and respected resident Of Petone. The late Mr. Carter, had been suffering from, a heavy cold this week, and he passed away in his sleep. He was born in London, and came out to New Zealand as a young man. After working in the preserving department of the Gear Company, Mr. Carter went into partnership with Mr. G. D. McEwen, the firm being known as McEwen, Carter, and Co., carriers. The deceased who lived for the greater part of his life in Pctone, is survived by his wife, three sons, and two daughters.
