JACKSON.- On May 24th, James Beberfald (sic) Jackson, aged 84 years.

We regret to record the death of another old settler in (sic) of Mr J. B. Jackson. Deceased, who was eighty-four years at the time of his death, came to the colony sixty years ago, and settled in the Hutt district for a few years, afterwards settling in Nelson. The late gentleman, who was highly esteemed, leaves three sons and seven daughter to mourn their loss.

DEATH OF AN OLD SETTLER.- Last night, another old settler passed away, Mr James Baberfald (sic) Jackson, at the age of eighty-four. Deceased had resided in this Colony about sixty years, first at the Hutt, but most of the time in Nelson. He leaves three sons and seven daughters, and a number of grandchildren. In accordance with deceased''s wish, his funeral will be a private one.
