Mr. R. Murdock (sic), a farmer of Hikutaia, died at his late residence, Hikutaia, yesterday, aged 38 years. Mr. Murdock (sic) lived at Tararu for many years, during which times he followed the occupation of a miner.

IMPROVED POSITION IN BOROUGH.
TWO DEATHS REPORTED IN OUTSIDE DISTRICTS
There is a decidely improved condition so far as the epidemic in the Borough is concerned, and it is pleasing to report that all patients in the Central Theatre hospital are doing well, six having already been discharged. The number now in this institution is 24.
The reports received from the outlying districts are not so encouraging, but organisation has been completed to cope with the outbreak.
Mr R. Murdock (sic), a farmer of Hikutaia, died at his late residence, Hikutaia, on Monday, at the age of 38 years. Several families are stricken down. A temporary hospital is being fitted out to assist patients in these outlying parts.
One death is reported at Netherton, Mrs Dunlop, senr., having passed away this morning.
Arrangements are under way to organise the milking of herds of some of the settlers who have contracted the disease.
