MOYNIHAN — LAGER.
St. Mark''s Church, Dufferin Street, was beautifully decorated with arum lilies and Iceland poppies on the occasion of the marriage of Audrey Marion, second daughter of Mrs. C. H. Pearce, Wellington South, and the late W. Lager, Mansfield, England, to Keith Lewis, second son of Mrs. F. Walker and the late D. J. Moynihan, also of Wellington South.
The bride, who entered the church with her stepfather, Mr. C. H. Pearce, wore a charming gown of ivory satin made on classical lines with a long train sweeping from the panelled skirt, and full bishop sleeves gathered into a small wristband and finished with three small satin buttons. A studded diamante belt encircled her waist. Her embroidered veil was held in place by a coronet of orange-blossom and formed a second train, and her "Lady Alice" bouquet was of freesias, roses, cyclamen, and lily of the valley. On leaving the church she was presented with a horseshoe by Louise Hollick, niece of the bridegroom. The bridesmaids, Miss Kitty Lager (sister of the bride) and Miss Florence Moynihan (sister of the bridegroom) wore trained gowns of lavender satin with cape effect sleeves, the back of the bodices being finished with trellis work. They wore haloes of flowers of the same shade as their dresses and carried shower bouquets of tulips, sweet peas, roses, and Iceland poppies shading from pale to very deep pink.
The officiating minister at the service, which was fully choral, was the Rev. V. C. Venimore, and Mr. Watson presided at the organ. "O Perfect Love" and "The Voice That Breathed O''er Eden" were sung during the service, and a solo, "Where''er Ye Walk," was rendered by Mrs. Shillson.
The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr. Arnold Moynihan, and Mr. T. Davey, of Waipukurau, the ushers being Messrs. E. Barnes, J. Clarke, and E. Moynihan.
Mr. and Mrs. Pearce, assisted by Mr. and Mrs. Walker, received 120 guests at the Oriental Cabaret where the reception was held. The bride''s mother wore a slightly trained gown of black floral georgette with matching coatee, and picture hat of shiny black straw trimmed with pink velvet flowers. Her bouquet was of tulips and cyclamen to tone with her dress. Mrs. Walker was attired in a gown of black floral satin with black coatee and picture hat of baku straw and carried a bouquet of tulips and roses, in pink shades.
When the bride and bridegroom left later for the north, the former was wearing a navy blue tailored suit, navy Breton sailor hat, and matching accessories.
