Death of Mr John Pyke. (sic)
At Te Whiti, this morning, Mr John Pyke died at his residence, at the age of 66. The late Mr Pyke was one of our earliest pioneer settlers, and one of those who in the early days and up to the present greatly helped to make New Zealand. He was a popular and highly respected member of the community in which he resided, and sincere sympathy will be extended towards a large number of relatives. The late Mr Pyke was born in 1837, in Bath, Somersetshire, England, and came to the Colony in 1857. For the last forty-six years he has been engaged in farming pursuits. He leaves a wife and family of six sons and four daughters.
The funeral will leave Te Whiti on Friday next, at 12 o''clock, for the Mastrton Cemetery.

THE friends of MRS JOHN PIKE (sic), Te Whiti, are respectfully invited to attend the funeral of her Husband, which will leave her residence, Te Whiti, on FRIDAY, the 21st, at 12 o''clock, arriving at Masterton Cemetery at 2.30 p.m.
