Artesian Well. — Between sixty and seventy pounds having been spent upon the artesian well at the Taita, a meeting of the subscribers was held at the Taita schoolroom on Monday evening last, to consider the advisability of proceeding with the work. It appeared from the report submitted to the meeting that piping had been successfully sunk to a depth of about twenty-seven feet, and it was believed that carrying it down a comparatively short distance further would obtain the desired flow of water. Sufficient money having been supplied to carry on the work for some three weeks longer, at least, it was resolved to proceed with the well at once, which resolution has already been given effect to.
