We regret to record to-day the death of Mr George Sykes, which occurred at Mangatuna yesterday. Deceased was a well-known bridge builder, and has been suffering from dropsy for some considerable time.

The funeral of the late Mr George Sykes took place yesterday afternoon, and was largely attended by sorrowing friends. The service at the graveside was read by the Rev. E. Robershawe. A number of floral tributes were laid on the coffin.
