PARTY AT TAITA
A most enjoyable kitchen tea given by Mrs S. Peck was held in her home at Taita in honour of Miss Gwen Baylis, whose marriage to Mr B. J. Champness is to take place shortly. The couple received many beautiful and useful gifts. The rooms were artistically decorated with sweet peas, and a delicious home-made savoury supper was served. Dancing, interspersed with clever items, made the evening pass all too quickly. Mrs. Peck, who acted as hostess, wore olive green crepe and beige lace, and was assisted in her duties by Miss V. Peck in silver lame and mauve velvet and Mrs V. Peck in black crepe. The guest of honour looked charming in marina green crepe and was accompanied by her mother who wore floral crepe de chene.
