HARRISON.- On October 26, 1944, Rev. C. F. R. Harrison, vicar of Royal Oak, Auckland, loving brother-in-law of Mrs. E. Mockridge, Udy Street, Petone, and Mrs. P. Walters, Taita, uncle of Mrs. C. Lusty, Mrs. J. Shardlow, and F. Mockridge. Loved and missed by all.

REV. C. F. R. HARRISON
The death has occurred at Auckland of the Rev. Charles Frederick Robert Harrison, who began his ministry as the first curate of Hutt parish. At the time of his death he was vicar of the Royal Oak parochial district, Auckland. He was 85 years of age, and had served in the ministry for 51 years.
Born at Eastwood, Nottinghamshire, England, Mr. Harrison came to New Zealand at the age of 20 in the ship British Empire. He received part of his education, in England and on the Continent and the remainder at St. John''s College.
Mr. Harrison was ordained in 1893 and after his service at the Hutt he went to Coromandel. He was stationed there until 1902, when he became vicar of Waiuku. Eight years later he went to Waitara, and after a further eight-years, became vicar of Huntly. He served there for seven years, becoming vicar of Royal Oak in 1925. Mr. Harrison was chaplain to the Manukau Masonic Lodge and for some years was also chaplain to the Costley Home and the Auckland Infirmary. He was a member of the Onehunga Bowling Club. He is survived by two daughters and a son, who is serving with the Armed Forces overseas.
