The wedding took place at the Church, of Christ, Newtown, of Miss Jessie Hardyment, daughtor of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Hardyment, of Hanson-street, and Mr. Robert Downey, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Downey, of Point Chevalier, Auckland, Mr. J. Marshall officiating. The church was tastefully decorated by friends of the bride, and Mr. A. Thomas was at the organ. The bridesmaids were Misses Annie Thomas and Lydia Laughton. The bride wore a beautiful gown of ivory crepe de chine and georgette, embroidered with pearls, and her veil was becomingly arranged over a wreath of orange blossoms. She carried a pretty bouquet of palest pink and white roses, with maidenhair fern and asparagus fern. The bridesmaids both looked very dainty — Miss A. Thomas in heliotrope georgette, with touches of gold and black panno velvet hat; Miss Laughton in apricot crepe de chine and tiny frills of georgette, with a leghorn hat, trimmed with lavender and apricot. Each carried posies of apricot roses and mauve pansies. Mr. Colin Downey was the best man, and Mr. Richard Monahan groomsman, both of Auckland. A reception was held at Dustin''s, in Cuba-street, where a number of friends were entertained. In the evening the bride and bridegroom left for the North, the bride wearing a smart navy costume and henna-shaded hat.
