WEDDING
The wedding took place last evening at St. Paul''s Pro-Cathedral of Nancy Olivia de. Jersey, daughter of Mr. F. de J. Clere, and Dr. Gordon Francis Rich, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Rich, New Plymouth. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Mr. Rich (Masterton), brother of the bridegroom, assisted by Canon Percival James. Mr. Robert Parker was at the organ, and, during the signing of the Register, Mr. George March (Rangiora) sang a solo. The church had been decorated with hydrangeas and sweet peas in shades of blue and pink. The bride, who was escorted, by her father, wore a gown of white lace over parchment crepe-de-chine, the long-sleeved bodice having a bolero effect, and the long, graceful skirt forming a train. The waistline was finished at the back with a pearl buckle. Her veil of old tulle (lent by Mrs. Harcourt Turner) was arranged with a cap of hand-embroidered tulle and caught with clusters of orange blossom. She carried a sheaf of tinted gladioli and roses. The bridesmaids, Misses Ruth Clere (chief), Ailsa March (Rangiora), and Joyce Clere (niece of the bride), wore picture frocks of buttercup organdi with short close-fitting bodice and fischu collars. The long, full skirts were finished with deep hems of scalloped frills. They wore picture hats of green straw, and carried posies of roses and pansies to tone. Dr. Fred Helmore (Christchurch) was best man. A reception was held at 7, Bolton street, where Miss Clere (sister of the bride), and Mr. F. de J. Clere received the guests. Miss Clere wore a frock of black lace and a black hat. She carried a bouquet of bronze pansies, mignonette, and green grapes. The rooms were decorated with roses, carnations, and gladioli, and a wedding bell of hydrangeas hung over the bride''s table. Mrs. Rich (mother of the bridegroom) wore a frock of beige georgette and lace, with hat to tone, and carried a bouquet of roses and pansies. Mrs. A. S. (sic) Luke (sister of bride) wore pale green georgette with hat to match. Mrs. D''Ath (Manakau), aunt of the bride, wore floral mauve georgette, with hat and coat to match. She carried a bouquet of pansies and stock in varying shades of mauve. Dr. and Mrs. Rich left by car, the latter wearing a light mustard and White wool georgette ensemble, a soft straw hat to match, and a white fur.
